iPhone 3.0 App Compatibility List (It’s a WIP)

Just upgraded my iPhone to 3.0 recently and I’m testing out all the apps I previously downloaded and see if any would run into problems on the 3.0 since not all have been verified as 3.0 compatible. Thought I’d put out a list and share the info to whoever might find this helpful. It’s a WIP and I’ll keep updating the list as I’ll might downloading new apps in the future.

BitNami Makes Installing WordPress a Breeze

Installing and setting up WordPress(.org) to host your own blog isn’t really something difficult, especially WordPress’s handy guide does provide instructions that are clear enough for one to install it without much trouble (I was referring to the instructions given on their website and was able get it up and running the first time). However, it can still get a bit hideous to some people with all the software to install and things to configure. In case you don’t know, you’d need Apache, MySQL, and PHP to be installed and configured properly prior to the installation of WordPress(.org).

Resize Your Bootcamp Partition Safely with CampTune

Apple allows you to install Windows on Macs with Bootcamp. It lets you run Windows smoothly  and drivers are provided to make the whole installation a breeze. But there’s been one major feature lacking in Bootcamp, as far as I’m concerned, ever since the availability of Bootcamp, which is the ability to allow users dynamically adjust the bootcamp partitition without touching anything on both the Mac and Windows partitions. Until now, introducing “CampTune“, which is just the thing to let you resize the bootcamp partition non-destructively!! What a handy application! The only down-side of it is that it is only free with the pre-release version. So get it now before it’s too late!!

p.s. Backing up your system is still highly recommended before “camptuning”…

Have a little more fun with your Mac’s Terminal – Make it sing!

First off, oh my god! I am writing the second post! What a milestone to my blog life. Just something I found interesting while I am surfing on the web today. Something I thought it’s cool to know with the Mac’s terminal. As I already knew how to make it say things, now, I can even make it sing a song!

    Refresh of my memory:
    1. How to make it say things. In the terminal, type in a command like below with the “say” command –>
    say hello world

    2. How to make it say things from a text file –>
    say -f thetextfile.txt

Now to make it sing a song. Type the command below in the terminal –>
say -v Good oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Pretty cool, huh? More songs @ UsingMac
